Footage has emerged showing a police motorcyclist flung from his bike while escorting a member of the Royal family.
The embarrassing incident happened yesterday while specialist officers from the Met Police escorted an unnamed monarch during a drive through London.
The moment was captured by an onlooker who was recording the procession on his phone.
A spokesman for the Met Police said he did not know which Royal the police were escorting and said they were finding out the condition of the driver.
A former police officer suggested the motorist could have clipped the vehicle in front which caused him to turn his wheel before accidentally crashing.
Those on social media including fellow bikers expressed sympathy at the incident.
One man said: 'Just shows how experienced we are we all make mistakes hope he okay,I am a motorbike rider it not nice when you come off. '
But others suggested the driver had lost control of his bike.
Another wrote: 'Any civilian would be searched, harassed, drug/drink tested, and spoken to in a horrible manor, bet this person walked away with none of it.'
