This is the nail-biting moment a primary schoolgirl tried to catch a toddler from falling off a building in central China's Henan province yesterday.
CCTV footage shows a two-year-old boy falling and hitting a delivery bag on the back of a motorbike despite the young girl's attempts to catch him.
The boy was taken to hospital and was said to be uninjured in the incident.
The footage was recorded yesterday on Xinmin Street, a residential area in xingyang City yesterday.
According to Henan Daily, the two-year-old boy climbed up to a window in his house on the third floor and yelled 'mother'.
There were no safety measures installed on the window at the time of the incident.
A group of young children walked past and saw the boy shouting.
Chen Keyu, a primary six student in Xingyang No 3 Middle School spotted the boy and was worried he would fall.
When he did fall, Chen stretched her arms out and ran to save him.
When the boy fell off from the window, Chen stretched her arms out and ran to save him.
However she missed him by about two feet. The boy hit a delivery bag on a motorbike and fell onto the ground.
Chen picked up the boy and a woman in a red dress came to offer help.
The boy was sent to Xingyang People's Hospital immediately and was reported to have a slight fever but no injuries were found.
Henan Daily reported that the boy was living on the third floor and had been left at home alone at the time of the incident.
