Shocking footage has emerged of a lorry smashing into the back of three cars on the M11.
The clip taken from the HGV's dashcam shows it battering three vehicles near Harlow, Essex.
The footage shows the lorry approaching braking traffic at speed before the first collision.
The first car is batted across the carriageway as the HGV continues to move before smashing into a second smaller vehicle.
Fortunately nobody was hurt in the crash but emergency services were forced to close the section of the motorway.
Essex Fire and Rescue sent four engines to the scene.
The dashcam footage was uploaded to Twitter by PC Mike Bignell, of the Essex Roads Policing Unit.
He wrote: 'This is why J7 to J6 was closed for so long. The HGV did not brake prior to the first impact.
'Luckily nobody was killed. Imagine if all the cars were stationary.'
A spokesperson for Essex Police told The Sun: 'Officers and ambulance staff attended a multi-vehicle [road traffic collision] at junction 6 of the M11, at around 5.30pm, on Wednesday, May 17.
'It was reported that three cars – a Mercedes, a Mazda, and a Kia – and an HGV were in collision. Three people suffered minor injuries.
'A 41-year-old man has been reported for careless driving. Enquiries are ongoing.'
