Jamie Topliss-Yates, 34, was walking to the kiosk to pay after filling at a BP garage in Hull, Yorkshire, when a car travelling at around 30mph came hurtling towards him. He tried to run but was thrown up into the air.
'I remember the horrible moment of inevitability when I realised no matter how fast I moved, I wasn't going to get out of the way,' Mr Topliss-Yates told Hull Magistrates' Court this week after the driver was arrested and charged with dangerous driving.
