A 16-year-old boy was caught carrying a massive machete and drugs on the streets of London.
Police approached the youngster who was 'acting suspiciously' at 4.30pm today in Station Parade, Barking - just days after the knife attack on London Bridge which left eight dead.
The boy ran away forcing officers to chase him on foot but he was eventually detained.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said a knife was recovered along with a quantity of Class B drugs.
The incident is not thought to be linked to terror and enquiries are continuing.
A male aged 16 is in custody at an east London police station after being arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
Yesterday astonishing footage showed heavily-armed police stopping a man with three machete-like knives in east London in a separate incident.
