Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) refused to answer a question regarding a possible Senate investigation into former Attorney General Loretta Lynch during a press conference on Tuesday.
During former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee last week, he revealed that Lynch had instructed him to refer to the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email practices as a “matter” and not an investigation.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) on Sunday said that the Senate should investigate Comey’s claim during an interview.
A reporter asked Schumer if he agreed with Feinstein that the Senate should investigate this matter.
“Before I say anything further on this, I want to hear what Loretta Lynch’s side of the story is. I haven’t heard that yet,” Schumer told the reporter.
