Footage has revealed the moment the top half of a truck slammed into a bridge on a freeway, causing debris to fly everywhere.
The truck was travelling on the Mitchell Freeway on Tuesday in Perth, Western Australia, when it approached the Hay Street overpass, reported Perth Now.
It was reportedly carrying heavy machinery at the time.
As the truck drove underneath the bridge it quickly became apparent it was too high to clear the space and it smashed into the bridge, sending debris flying everywhere.
A car travelling directly behind was showered in debris and rubbish and braked suddenly.
In the footage, which was being filmed from by a car travelling a few metres behind, a man can be heard exclaiming 'F***ing hell!'
A driver travelling behind the truck told Perth Now he estimated the truck was travelling about 80 km per hour when it hit the bridge.
'A split second before the truck reached the bridge I thought, 'he's in trouble, he's not going to clear that',' he said.
