The Mayor of New York City Bill de Blasio told the United States Conference of Mayors on Saturday that stopping the Republican healthcare plan was “his call to arms.”
De Blasio was telling the conference about the pending Senate vote on the Republican healthcare plan and the impact that it would have on municipalities.
“We’re going to see hospitals close, and sadly, they are going to close in the places they are needed the most,” de Blasio told the conference. “But it’s not a foregone collusion, and this is my call to arms, and it’s bipartisan.”
These comments came less than two weeks after a lone gunman targeted a Republican Congressional baseball practice. Some have brought attention to the divisive political rhetoric in America in the wake of that shooting.
