A 58-year-old Starbucks customer is being lauded as a hero after he thwarted a robbery attempt by an armed man sporting a “Transformers” mask.
Security camera footage from the July 20 incident sees robbery suspect Ryan Michael Florez approach the counter of the Fresno coffee shop, a replica gun in hand.
The Starbucks staffer initially hesitates to pull cash from the register, prompting Florez to pull out a knife. Seconds later, customer Cregg Jerri enters the screen and repeatedly bashes the would-be robber over the head with a chair.
The fight moves around the cafe, with both men wrestling for the knife and stabbing each other until Florez flees to his vehicle. He was apprehended about 20 minutes later, police told the Fresno Bee.
