Chaos hit east London, Friday, as protests demanding justice for the death of 20-year-old Rashan Charles turned violent. Charles was chased and apprehended by police in Hackney, east London, on July 23, dying shortly after the incident. Demonstrators gathered outside the shop in Kingsland Road where Charles was initially arrested. Outside the store protesters proceeded to block the road, forming barricades to obstruct traffic. Footage shows a lorry driving through containers used as barricades and taking away several protesters clinging to the vehicle's windows.
