Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has shared a "first draft animation" of his company Space X's Falcon Heavy rocket, which will one day carry humans to Mars.
The Falcon Heavy is essentially a souped up version of SpaceX's Falcon 9 reusable rocket booster, which is regularly used to carry supplies to the International Space Station.
It is composed of three Falcon 9s strapped together, with a total of 27 engines generating more than 5 million pounds of thrust - equal to approximately eighteen 747 aircraft.
The animation shows the Falcon Heavy rocket blasting off from a launchpad. Once it has emerged from the Earth's atmosphere, the two outer rocket boosters detach and return to Earth, where they land safely.
