Tube passengers have described the terrifying moment thick smoke poured into their carriage forcing a mass evacuation of a major underground station.
Frantic commuters were forced to flee Oxford Circus, in London, this morning as firefighters launched an emergency investigation into the fire alert.
London Ambulance Service said it treated four patients at the station and rushed two people to hospital.
The Bakerloo Line is suspended and Oxford Circus remains closed.
Commuters on board the Tube have described the rising panic as smoke filled the carriage and travellers started to "cough up" and "get down".
