Former Bernie Sanders press secretary Symone Sanders said that the Democratic Party needs to stop focusing so much on white, working-class voters during an interview on “The Hughley Truth” podcast released on Wednesday.
“I think the Democratic Party is focusing too much on these white, working-class voters and thinking that is the way to save the party,” Sanders told host DL Hughley.
Hughley had just said Donald Trump won the election because of hatred, and that white, working-class voters picked Trump because they thought he would return things to they way they were.
Bernie Sanders became a champion of white, working-class voters too, though, and expressed disappointment with Hillary Clinton’s failure to win the demographic after the election.
