'Scumbag' clears out £3,000 of tools from van in four-minute raid as owner nips to shop

A self-employed contractor had all his tools stolen from his van in just four minutes by a "scumbag" thief.

After drilling holes in the white van's rear doors the crook calmly transferred £3,000-worth of electrical tools into the back of a getaway car.

Another man gets into a blue Vauxhall Vectra and the pair flee the scene.

The video footage taken from the Wylde Green Co-op in Sutton Coldfield, has since been shared almost 7,000 times on Facebook by people in a bid to catch the men behind the masks.

Glenn Steward was distraught when he returned to van less than half an hour after he left it to find all the tools he had acquired over the years for his work, had been stolen.

He told the Birmingham Mail how he saw a roll of barrier tape on the ground and quickly knew something was wrong.
