Police are investigating a viral video of a man allegedly 'assaulting' a woman officer at Notting Hill Carnival.
The footage shows a young man in a white t-shirt, shorts and a cap thrusting against a woman officer.
The man appears to be laughing to the person filming.
The officer's face is not visible.
There is no sound in the 9-second version of the video seen by the Mirror.
The Met Police said in a statement: "We are aware of the video and enquiries are being made into the circumstances surrounding the incident."
The video has been shared thousands of times on Twitter with some describing it as "sexual assault".
"Our police are now so terrified of political correctness they submit to what can only be described as sexual assault," wrote one account.
"This is either sexual assault or she should be disciplined for misbehavior," wrote another.
Others disagreed saying the officer may have also been laughing and taking the incident in good spirit.
The topic of 'daggering' has long been controversial at Notting Hill Carnival, the largest festival in the UK celebrating Afro-Caribbean culture.
