A man was smashed in the head with a bottle and left lying unconscious in the middle of the road in sickening CCTV footage .
The footage shows two men fighting on the side of the road at around 3am last Sunday.
But things escalate and the suspect overpowers the other man, pushing him to the ground.
He then smashes him on the back of the head with a bottle before hitting him in the face in the brutal attack.
The victim then falls to the floor and loses consciousness in Long Eaton, Derby.
Police said the suspect appears to crouch down and 'show concern' for the victim before walking away.
He attempted to flag down a cyclist as he left the scene, they said.
A vehicle is also seen driving by without stopping as the man lies in the road.
DC Chloé Price of Derbyshire police said: “CCTV footage shows a man being struck on the back of the head with a bottle before taking a number of additional blows to the face.
