A 'Hitler-inspired' schoolboy hit his teacher with an axe before opening fire with an airgun, police have reported.
The teenager also threw smoke bombs as he screamed he would stage a massacre and was prepared to die.
His terrified classmates jumped out of their classrooms first floor windows, with several suffering injuries.
The youngster, Mikhail Pivnev, was initially reported to have shot his teacher Lyubov Kalmykova, 39, with a "non-lethal gun", resulting in a forehead injury.
Later it was stated by the General Prosecutor's Office that he struck her with an axe at the Russian village of Ivanteyevka.
The attacker gave some pupils one minute to flee. They ran to warn school director Olga Mikhailichenko who "did not believe" her school was under siege from a student.
"No-one believed them," said a pupil. Parent Maria Ruzanova said: "I know the boy, I know his friends and classmates. He was preparing this for a long while. "No-one believed him."
He was reported to have admired the American Columbine shooters and to hold Nazi sympathies.
A video showed him making Nazi salutes, it was reported. Another clip shows him and friends shooting from an air gun.
