"Madness" as mass brawl involving "people acting like animals" in dark street captured in terrifying footage

A mass brawl which involved around 30 men and women in a street at night has been captured in a terrifying video.

The witness who filmed the fight in the middle of Walford Road, Sparkbrook, told the Birmingham Mail : "It was just madness, people acting like animals."

People are shown throwing punches at each other while screams and shouts are heard in the shocking footage - in which a woman appeared to be attacked as she cowered on the floor.

In the clip from Sunday, three of the men separate from the huge crowd and continue fighting further down the road.

One man with a dog is seen chasing the men before the video pans back to the brawling group.

Police confirmed officers were called to Walford Road just before 10.30pm on Sunday September 3 after reports of a fight between a group of men.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "Upon arrival there were no injuries reported to officers and no one was identified as being involved.

"Anyone who is worried about suspicious behaviour in their area is asked to call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
