he world's most popular YouTuber, Pewdiepie , has found himself mired in another controversy after using a racial slur in an online broadcast.
The 27-year-old Swede - whose real name is Felix Kjellberg - called a fellow gamer a "n****r" during a live stream whilst playing shoot 'em up video game, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.
In the stream, which was shared by another YouTube user on Sunday, the internet sensation can be heard using the slur in frustration before he seemingly issues a half-hearted apology.
"What a f***ing n****r," he barks, before adding: "Jeez, oh my God! What the f**k? Sorry, but what the f**k? What a f**king a**hole. I don't mean that in a bad way."
Mashable reports that he later tried to issue a defence in the live stream, telling his viewers: “[The other player] did a d**k move, and I tried to think of the worst word.
“And I end up saying n*****. I know that no one watching gives a s***."
Pewdiepie has 57million subscribers on the online video platform, and as of 2016 had amassed a $15million fortune from his exploits - becoming the world's highest paid YouTuber.
