Cheap mobile phone suddenly explode in shopper's hands in dramatic security camera footage

Dramatic security camera footage shows the moment a mobile phone suddenly turned into a fireball in a man's hands.

The shopper jumps in horror as the device explodes, throwing it to the floor and kicking it away.

It is not known what make or model the phone was.

The phone gave off a loud blast as it suddenly became engulfed in flames , with the lithium battery inside suspected to have exploded.

The man initially tried to put out the fire with his foot, before kicking it into the middle of the room.

Fortunately, he did not appear to suffer any serious injuries.

A shop worker behind the counter stood up after the device explodes, but did not appear unduly alarmed by the drama unfolding in front of him.

The footage was taken at a store in China.

Reports in China did not say whether the man planned to demand compensation or a new phone from the company.
