The 17-year-old had reportedly been experiencing pain and 'could barely see' when he sought medical help.
Dr. Pablo Guzman-Salas saw something moving in and out of holes it had burrowed into the boy's iris at the Conde de Valenciana Institute of Ophthalmology in Mexico City.
Guzman-Salas said the teen, from a rural area of Mexico, had had "very, very bad luck".
