New York van panic as three pedestrians are injured by truck mounting kerb outside Madison Square Garden in Manhattan
Multiple pedestrians have been injured after a van ploughed through crowds in New York.
Three people were hit by the vehicle which went through a red light and mounted the curb near Penn Station.
One witness said: "I saw it happen. The van rammed through the intersection through a crowd.
"I saw 3 people get hit. I didn't see the van stop."
Another added: "Literally just finished crossing the street in front of Penn Station when a car slammed into people.
"Heard the hit, screams and ran for it."
The van failed to stop but was later traced by police, according to reports.
A spokesman for New York Police Department told CBS News it was believed the incident was "an accident".
The man driving a burgundy van "lost control of the vehicle after an issue with the pedals".
One man and two women were injured but are not in a life-threatening conditioning.
Stephanie Dorazio tweeted: "Arrived from DC , saw man in burgundy van shout something out window, plowed into 2 pedestrians. Blood everywhere"
Jason added: "Van just swerved through crowd of people outside penn station. My wife saw it happen. Said no one was killed."
An image emerged on social media of a burgundy van stopped in a street surrounded by police.
