Yob sets himself alight during bungled arson attack on a Mercedes outside family home

A bungling arsonist set himself on fire when her tried to torch a Mercedes parked outside a family’s home.

CCTV shows two men dousing petrol over a Mercedes and a Nissan parked on a driveway in a Liverpool suburb.

One of the men was then engulfed in a fireball when he dropped a match on the petrol.

The arsonist initially ran off to escape the flames but unbelievably returned seconds later to grab a blazing petrol canister he left behind.

CCTV seems to show he suffered burns to his hands as he tried to pick up the burning container.
