A terrified passenger has captured the moment flames began surging out of a jet engine mid flight.
The Angara Airlines flight from Talakan to Irkutsk had recently taken off without any problems from the small airport in the east of Siberia when travellers saw the fire on the right jet engine .
The Siberian Times reported that the flight was full of oil workers from an oil field in Yakutia, also known as the Sakha Republic.
One passenger said: "I thought I was an atheist and then I just started praying."
Once alerted to the fire, the pilot made a successful emergency landing of the aircraft back at the privately built airport operated by energy company Surgutneftegaz.
