WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT The boy's teacher has been suspended amid reports he failed to stop the boy becoming injured
Fellow students say the 14-year-old boy was attacked by a girl, who stuck the blade in his head during a heated row.
But his teacher claims the boy and the girl, neither of which have been named, were playing a game in which the scissors were thrown.
The teacher added that the scissors accidentally stuck in the lad's head.
A video shows the boy as he arrived at hospital, in the city of Nasca in Peru.
Doctors said that the scissor blade had fortunately not penetrated the boy's brain and that they were removed without incident.
His teacher has since been suspended from the Josefina Mejia de Bocanegra school and the headteacher has launched an investigation.
