Teams of police were chased out of town by angry voters after officers tried to stop them voting in the Catalan referendum.

But bizarre video from the east of the region - which wants independence from the Spanish government - shows anxious law enforcers being followed by a large crowd chanting: "Shame, shame".
Others shouted "Out, out" as police retreated from the oncoming mob in video which has been widely shared on social media.
