A police officer who shot and killed a fleeing criminal he had pulled over for riding erratically on his bicycle has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
Patrick Harmon, 50, was shot three times by Officer Clinton Fox in Salt Lake City after he was pulled over for cycling across six lanes without a rear light on August 13.
In shocking footage of the shooting, Harmon can first be seen surrounded by officers as he is handcuffed.
He then appears to suddenly flee the cops and sprint away.
All of the officers claimed that Harmon threatened to cut them with a knife and say he drew something from his pocket and held it in his hand.
When Officer Fox fired on Harmon, another officer fired his stun gun at the same time.
As Harmon lay wounded on the ground, officers helped him and said: 'Patrick, stay with us'.
He died in hospital.
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Harmon's family is demanding the release of the body camera footage from the other officers.
Friends and family say Harmon did not deserve to die and was a good man despite his drug troubles.
