Police officer knocked to the ground after being punched in the face during violent town centre brawl

A violent street brawl in a town centre left a police officer was knocked to the ground after being struck in the face.

The brawl was captured by a bystander on video showing a group of males throwing punches at each other.

The males grapple with each and land several blows in the short clip.

There are several fights going on in the background as police and security officers run in and try to break it up.

It also shows an officer knocked to the ground by a man who punches him in the face.

The incident occurred in Boston, Lincolnshire.

Three men were arrested for public order offences but all were later released with no further action.

An eyewitness said: “I have been told the brawl broke out because a man stole another person’s man bag. The alleged thief was then jumped by seven men and some other men were breaking it up.”

Police confirmed they were called to the Market Place in the early hours of Saturday following reports of affray.
