Terrified children burst into tears as a fight broke out after a furious shopper accidentally shoved an umbrella stand onto a man in Sports Direct.
A brave woman was forced to step in to break up the row between two men as it spilled into Yardley’s Swan Centre in Birmingham.
Part of the brawl was caught on Facebook Live by shopper Gav Grant, showing a man in an orange top shoving clothing racks onto the floor in Sports Direct.
It's not clear why the man - thought to be with at least two young children - clashed with Sports Direct staff at the entrance of the sports shop.
But as he leaves the store, he attempts to pull a stand loaded with umbrellas to the ground - hitting another shopper in the head.
Youngsters can be heard screaming as the injured shopper, dressed in a grey hoody, then starts screaming at the irate shopper, while horrified passersby look on.
The man in grey can be seen pushing the man, causing his glasses to fall off, while he backs away with his hands in the air, saying: “I’m very sorry.”
He attempts to get back to his two young children sitting in a trolley but he is held back, reports the Birmingham Mail.
The angry row only ends when a brave woman intervenes.
She can be heard repeatedly telling the pair: “There are kids here. There are children, children crying.”
A security guard can be heard reassuring the injured man: “You got the better of him sir.”
The pair were blasted by viewers on social media, while others praised the actions of the woman who stepped in to stop the vicious row.
Manni Singh commented: “Disgrace. This is where families shop, kids are around - what will they think
“Hats off to the lady who intervened, the security did not deal with the situation as they should have.”
Julie Graham added: “Well done to that lady trying to stop because of the children.”
Mandy Terry wrote: “Took a lady to intervene and stand between two men. Go guys.”
Carol Elizabeth added: “Nice to see this being done in front of frightened, impressionable children. Well done.”
Dee Stewart wrote: “Disgusting behaviour. There was a little girl standing next to him when he pulled down the stand. The blonde lady did more than security!”
Siobhan Watkins added: “To act like that in front of your kids. Should be the bigger person and walk away.”
Shamas Tabrez wrote: “Respect to the woman for stopping it.”
Shemin Noorali commented: “What a brave woman.”
