Heartbreaking moment dad dumps newborn baby outside orphanage in packing crate

Heartbreaking footage has emerged of a dad dumping his premature baby son outside an orphanage in a plastic box.



The father was caught on camera as he pulled up outside the Hui'an County Orphanage in Quanzhou City in China's eastern Fujian Province in a car, lifting the clear box from the vehicle and tip-toeing across the car park with it held out in front of him.



The man places the container on the ground, slides the lid slightly to one side and then jogs quickly back to his car.



The boy, who doctors estimate was born prematurely at 31 weeks, was found asleep inside the plastic crate, which contained some quilts as well as the child’s clothing, toys, bottle and £115 (1,000 RMB) in cash.



The parents are not believed to have left a note and authorities have no idea why they chose to abandon the little boy.
