Furious football hooligans donned knuckle dusters and gum shields as violence flared in Liverpool city centre when they were denied entry to a nightclub.
That's according to witnesses to the mass brawl, which saw stools used as weapons, punches thrown and a man body-slammed to the floor.
The Liverpool Echo understands that dozens of men, many from Germany, were apparently refused entry to a bar in the Ropewalks just before last night’s trouble.
Eight German nationals were among 10 arrested following what police described as a “disturbance involving members of the public and door staff”.
