A university rugby player was kicked unconscious during a match in what referees described as 'the worst thing ever seen on the pitch'.
Sickening footage shows the victim was defenceless when he was viciously punted in the face while tying his bootlaces during a clash between Arizona State University and the University of Arizona.
The video, which was released to US media by police , shows Douglas Neary was knocked out on the pitch during the clash in Tempe on February 25.
Mr Neary reportedly suffered a concussion and required facial reconstruction surgery which left him with a metal plate and six screws fitted into his face.
