NASA has released a sneak peek of its new Mars Rover which will embark on a mission to find signs of life on the red planet in 2020.
Designs of the hi-tech spacecraft using artist's impressions were released yesterday along with plans for the ground-breaking project.
Similar in appearance to the Curiosity rover, which landed on Mars in 2012, the upgraded rover will have seven new instruments, redesigned wheels, and more autonomy, according to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).
Jim Watzin, director of NASA's Mars Exploration Program, said: "The fact that so much of the hardware has already been designed, or even already exists, is a major advantage for this mission.
"It saves us money, time and most of all, reduces risk."
