A elderly woman who fell into an icy river was rescued thanks to the bravery of a bike rider who spotted her go under the freezing water.
Shi Lei had been on his way to work when he spotted the 70-year-old woman from a bridge.
Other eyewitnesses were calling the emergency services, but Mr Lei immediately jumped off his bike and raced towards the water.
Mobile phone footage shows Mr Lei, 54, trying tirelessly to drag the woman to safety.
He had to break the frozen ice with his hands and was later joined by another man who managed to secure a rope around Mr Lei and the OAP.
