This is the incredible moment a survivor of the Peru bus crash that claimed the lives of 51 people clings to rocks after jumping out of a window before it hurtled off a cliff and onto a beach below.
Engineering graduate Maximo Jimenez Vilcayauri limped away from the crash scene after he was helped to safety by rescuers following the accident on a narrow stretch of road overlooking the Pacific known as the Devil’s Curve.
Today, hospital bosses confirmed the 24-year-old had escaped with a broken arm and cuts and bruises after his quick-thinking saved him from certain death.

With the shoreline 330ft below as onlookers shouted words of encouragement, telling him to be strong and hold on as help was on its way.
