United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said during an interview on Sunday that she thought President Trump’s tweet threatening North Korea over U.S. nuclear capabilities was appropriate, stressing the importance of the U.S. to reminding North Korea about those capabilities.
Trump tweeted on Tuesday night about how he, too, has a nuclear button, a response to North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un latest provocative acts. But Trump added that his button was, ”much bigger & more powerful” than Kim’s button.
ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos asked Haley whether she thought President Trump’s tweet hurt the United States’ credibility, something that former Vice President Joe Biden claimed during an interview while expressing doubt that the Trump administration knows what it’s doing when it comes to North Korea.
“What they know is we’re not letting up on the pressure…we want to always remind [North Korea] that we can destroy you too, so be very cautious and careful with your words and what you do,” Haley said.
