A driver ploughs into a tipper lorry and van while racing the wrong way down a one-way street before fleeing on foot, in this dramatic footage.
Kareem Thomas, 28, has been jailed for almost two years after he admitted dangerous driving and possession of a knife .
Police frantically tried to flag down Thomas to tell him he was driving the wrong way in busy Paragon Road in Hackney, east London, at 8.30am on September 1.
But Thomas refused to stop and reached a terrifying 50mph in his blue Peugeot hatchback as he charged into Retreat Place.
Thomas rammed into a white van which then ploughed into a Hackney Council dustbin lorry, inflicting "catastrophic" damage on the refuse truck.
Firefighters dashed to the chaotic scene to free a trapped man from the battered van while two others were rushed to hospital with serious back injuries.
