A group of scientists have discovered the world's longest underwater cave which contains artifacts dating back to the Mayan civilisation.
The discovery is being heralded as "the most important submerged archaeological site in the world".
The team, who are working on the Great Mayan Aquifer (GAM) project, discovered a 216 mile link between the underwater caverns of Sac Actun and Dos Ojos in Tulum, Mexico.
Stunning footage shows the divers carefully navigating the blue waters and tiny crevices of the caves just off the Yucatán Peninsula while wearing GoPro cameras on their heads.
As they go deeper, the divers swim close to a rock, which is embedded with bones, and zoom their cameras on an embedded pot and a stone embedded with interesting markings.
