Audacious thief on tiptoes steals handbags from women focused on early morning prayers at mosque

An audacious thief took advantage of an elderly woman concentrating on her early morning prayers by stealing her handbag with thousands in cash inside.



Dressed all in black, the felon can be seen in video footage tiptoeing carefully around the mosque as dozens of women in white take part in the service.



CCTV shows the thief - who also appears to be a woman herself - leaning over a row of worshippers in white performing devotions at a mosque in the city of Kota Bharu in the north western Malaysia.



Their first attempt is foiled by the intended victim covering her possessions as she leans forward in the "sujud" position to pray.
