A bride-to-be filmed herself committing suicide by drinking poison and sent the clip to an ex-boyfriend accused of blackmailing her.
The young woman, named as Nisha Devidas, took her own life by drinking pesticide just 10 days before her wedding.
Nisha died at home in the village of Rohini in the western Indian state of Maharashtra on January 25.
Brother Ravi Kavle claimed his sister was being blackmailed by her ex-boyfriend, Nikhil Borkar.
The harrowing clip, which shows tragic Nisha drinking a thick black liquid, was reportedly sent to Borkar.
Nisha was found unresponsive and rushed to the District General Hospital in Bhandara but was declared dead on arrival.
Ravi told local media: "My sister's wedding was due on 4th February but she embraced death just 10 days before her marriage.
"A youth named Nikhil Borkar is responsible for my sister's death. He lured my sister on the pretext of marriage, then used her and started blackmailing her.
"Fed up and defeated, my sister consumed pesticide. I want Nikhil to be immediately arrested."
Police say they are investigating. It was not clear whether they had interviewed Mr Borkar.
The nature of the blackmail was not stated but may have related to a sexual relationship between Mr Borkar and Miss Devidas.
