Congressional Republicans are continuing to expose the Democrats’ FISA abuses, summarizing the Nunes memo’s explosive contents in a new video released late last week.



Reps. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), Devin Nunes (R-CA), and John Ratcliffe (R-TX) appear in the video to detail how a piece of Democratic opposition research was used to approve surveillance on members of Donald Trump’s campaign.



A series of news clips and an appearance from Nunes introduces the central problem of the FISA warrants. “Political dirt was used by the FBI, and they knew it was political dirt, to open a counter-intelligence investigation into the other campaign,” Nunes explains.



News clips interrupt Nunes’ comments to report that “the memo reveals partisan bias at the Justice Department.”



Gowdy and Ratcliffe then further expand on the abuses at the Obama Department of Justice (DOJ).



Ratcliffe, a member of the Judiciary Committee blasts investigators for refusing to divulge the source of the Steele dossier, used to approve the FISA warrants, to the court. “The DOJ and FBI had four opportunities to disclose these facts in the original FISA application in each of three subsequent renewal applications over a nearly year-long period—but never did,” the Texas representative says.



“This dossier was paid for by the Democrat National Committee and Hillary Clinton. They hired a political opposition research firm, who hired Christopher Steele, who wrote it,” Gowdy explains in the video. “For reasons the Democrats never can explain, the FISA application went to great lengths to avoid identifying a material point about the financial source behind the dossier.”
