A heartbroken dog pawed desperately at its dead friend after it discovered the animal lying dead in the middle of a road.
The pup had been hit by a car and killed almost immediately on impact.
But it didn't stop the small black dog trying to 'awaken' it's pal, pawing at it in an attempt to move it onto the pavement.
Eventually, the dead animal was moved by local police, its pal refuses to leave its side, still convinced that the dog is alive.
The touching scene was caught on camera in the Hubei province of China on February 12.
