This clip shows the moment a man bravely dives into a freezing canal in the middle of Storm Emma to perform a dramatic rescue operation - for a stranger's dog.
Tom Sullivan, 25, woke up after sleeping at a friend's house to hear noise outside.
When he discovered it was a dog stuck in the canal in Camden, north London, he was straight outside and on the case to rescue the pooch.
He told the Evening Standard : "I didn't really care, I stepped out and fell through pretty much instantly.
"I kept sinking back under every time I tried to help the dog up.
"I was probably in there for a couple of minutes but it felt like a lot longer."
Tom's friend Lewis arrived with coats and towels to give to Tom and the dog - and he went and got a warm shower to recover.
