Dramatic footage shows a volcano in Japan send smoke and ash thousands of metres into the air, forcing flights from a nearby airport to be cancelled.
Shinmoedake, which featured in 1967 James Bond film You Only Live Twice, erupted today - the most powerful explosion in seven years.
The volcano, more than 600 miles from Toyko on the southern island of Kyushu, has been erupting on a smaller scale since last Thursday.
The entrance to Shinmoedake, which has a 1,421-metre peak, has been restricted since last week.
