“Something comes out of the White House, a tweet that drives me to distraction, and I turn it into a picture of Mt. Rainier,” he said. “So, it’s a mental health issue.”
Inslee went on to say that his painting is more “vitriolic” now that Trump is in office.
“I used to do dormant volcanoes. Now, I do active volcanoes to respond to the White House at the moment,” he said.
“I have not yet heard of somebody translating their view of politics at the moment into pastels,“ the host replied.
Inslee admits that sometimes he goes into such an unhinged fit that he rips up newspapers… then paints polar bears on them.
“I’ll show you the latest I did of a polar bear on a collage of torn up New York Times,” Inslee said. “So you get mad reading the newspaper, you tear up the paper, you make it a collage, and then paint bears on top.”
