President Donald Trump and members of U.S. Customs and Border Protection viewed prototypes of the Mexican border wall in San Diego Tuesday.
Trump spent most of his visit out of earshot of the press, but walked over to make brief remarks during his tour.
He said he looked at the current border "fence" and saw where holes had been cut and re-plugged by authorities.
"The fence is not strong enough, it's not the right idea," he said.
Speaking with a CBP agent, Trump asked why they want a wall with "see-through" capability.
