Alan Dershowitz, a liberal Harvard Law professor, said that Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chair Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), “has to be fired immediately,” for his relationship with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, an infamous anti-Semite, during an interview on Friday.
Several Congressional Democrats including Ellison have come under scrutiny for their ties to Farrakhan, who in the past has called the Jewish people his “enemy,” “satanic,” and claimed the Jewish people are responsible for “filth and degenerate behavior,” while also praising Adolf Hitler as a “very great man.”
Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt asked Dershowitz if more Democrats should separate themselves from Farrakhan.
“Well, I think more than just separate themselves. I think Keith Ellison has to be fired immediately as deputy chairman of the DNC,” Dershowitz said. “Not only has he become close to Farrakhan, but he’s lied to the American public about ending his relationship with Farrakhan. We know that he continued to meet with Farrakhan even after he said he no longer met with him.”
Dershowitz then called Farrakhan a “bigot” and said he “was far worse than David Duke.”
“[Farrakhan] ought to be treated the way we treat David Duke. If any Republican dared to meet with David Duke, that would be the end of their career. It should be the end of the career of any Democrat who has any association with this bigot Farrakhan,” Dershowitz said.
