Footage 'proves Russian election was RIGGED' with officials seen 'stuffing ballot boxes with multiple papers'

Independent observers of the the Russian presidential election have cried foul, amid claims video from polling stations around the country shows widespread "ballot-stuffing".



Clips taken from official live internet transmissions of voting were uploaded to social media sites allegedly showing people casting ballot paper after ballot paper.



The footage appears to show officials in polling stations putting multiple ballot papers into boxes.



And election monitoring group Golos claimed to have spotted over 1,700 irregularities, including papers found in ballot boxes before the polls even opened.



But Ella Pamfilova, head of the commission organising the vote nationwide, has said any fraud will be stamped out and accused those claiming the poll was rigged of being biased against Moscow.



She accused critics of peddling "Russophobia", echoing a line used by the Kremlin to describe Western criticism of Russia, particularly in the wake of the nerve agent attack on ex-spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter.
