Nigerian crime gangs are reportedly profiting from the mobile phone theft epidemic on British streets.
Smartphones snatched by moped-riding thugs are being exported more than 4,000 miles to the African nation where they are sold for up to £560 each on a booming black market, The Sun reported.
A newspaper investigation found used "UK Used Phones" are being sold in stores and markets in Nigeria's largest city Lagos. One trader who was questioned over their merchandise admitted the phones were "London used".
Hi-tech mobiles remain relatively scarce in the country fuelling a soaring desire for gadgets from middle class customers, it was reported.
