Surgeons battled to save a motorcyclist's leg 15 TIMES before they were eventually forced to amputate it after this horror crash .
CCTV shows the moment the 42-year-old’s life ‘completely changed’ after he smashed into a taxi when driver Mohammad Bhatti turned into his path.
The motorcyclist, who has remained anonymous, was flung from his the bike, and landed with a sickening thud on the ground.
Police said surgeons tried 15 times to save his leg, but were eventually forced to partially amputate.
He is now attending physiotherapy and rehabilitation sessions and is living in supported accommodation while special adaptations are made to his home.
Bhatti, 58, of Gilnow Road, Bolton, pleaded guilty at Bolton magistrates’ court to a charge of driving without due care and attention and was sentenced today.
Police said he was handed the maximum sentence the court could impose for the offence, a six-month driving ban, reports the Manchester Evening News.
PC Michael Cartwright, of GMP’s Road Policing Unit, said: “As you will see from the footage, this was an awful collision that has left the victim with life-changing injuries.
